Institute of Molecular Medicine (IMM) is a ‘not for profit’ entity (section 25 company) incorporated in the year 1999, with the objective to undertake, establish, conduct, develop, improve, carry on research in both basic and applied branches of science and in particular in the field of medicine, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, genomics and proteomics including natural products.
To develop into an ‘Academic Translational Research Institute’ of international importance driving innovative and path breaking research, creating intellectual wealth for societal benefits and provide the entire pathway for ‘bench to market’ to the scientific fraternity.
- To developing a unique national resource for clinical and translational research to produce high-quality and cost effective, India centric solutions with global application.
- To promulgate an interdisciplinary team model to catalyze the discovery and application of new knowledge and techniques for health and healthcare improvement.
- To embark upon academic and training programs to create next generation biomedical scientists needed by India.
- Enter into collaborations with scientists of repute, academic and research institutions, governments and industry for furtherance of its objectives.
With a ‘Scientific Advisory Board’ comprising of national and international scientists of eminence, IMM forms a part of the New York based ‘The Chatterjee Group’ having extensive interests in ‘life sciences’ research.
IMM has successfully forged collaborations with national and international academia and research institutions as well as the government of India. Its teams of high caliber and experienced scientists have secured research funding from Government of India and bi-lateral funding agencies.
