Partha Pratim Majumder, PhD
Founder-Director of CpG provides scientific leadership to the team. He is also Professor & Head, Human Genetics Unit, Indian Statistical Institute (ISI).

Professor Majumder has made many important contributions to the development of genetic epidemiology and population genetics. He is a Fellow of the Indian National Science Academy and the Indian Academy of Sciences. He is Member of the Human Genome Organisation, has served on the Board of Directors of the International Genetic Epidemiology Society (IGES), was the founding Chair of the ELSI Committee of IGES, is a Member of the Indian National Bioethics Committee and has served as an Expert on UNESCO’s Drafting Group of the International Declaration on Human Genetic Data. Professor Majumder has won many awards, including the New Millennium Science Gold Medal.
