Cancer Biology

Engineering and development of tumor-killing bacterium from benign commensals: Interest is to develop our constructed invasive but non-pathogenic E. coli K-12 that is highly cytolytic towards human glioblastoma, to target refractory and non-responsive human cancers.
Principal Investigator: Sudeshna Kar

Tumor initiation and cell-specific target identification:  Aim is to derive novel molecular signatures typical for each stage of tumor evolution. For example, in breast cancer, the focus is on identifying cell-type specific (epithelial, stromal, and endothelial cells) de-regulators for early detection and/or therapy.
Principal Investigator: Surajit Ganguly
