About TCGA

The Centre for Genomic Applications (TCGA) is a multipurpose national facility set up in 2004 as a public private partnership between Institute of Molecular Medicine (IMM) and Institute of Genomics and Integrative Biology (IGIB) with an aim to provide affordable high end research infrastructure and services to R & D laboratories in private and public sectors and the scientific community.

Equipped with the latest high end technology platforms in the field of genomics and proteomics research, TCGA has collaborated with more than 200 academic institutions and assisted them in taking forward their research.

With a focus on clinical genomics, population genomics, pharmacogenomics, functional genomics and clinical proteomics, supported by a growing in-house bio-repository, it has ability to connect with clinics having a large and diverse patient population.

TCGA has forged relationships with key domestic and international institutions. Due to its unique lineage, it is able to draw on resources / competencies from across the globe, which has led to cutting down the research time and costs, critical to positioning India as a key global player in life sciences research.

TCGA has been one of the partners in the Indian Genome Variation Study, wherein it generated genetic information on over 4,000 genetic markers from over 1,000 biomedically important and pharmacogenetically relevant genes in reference to populations encompassing diversity of population from across the country.
